Some of the best business lessons came from Cricket

Some of the best business lessons I learned didn’t come from work – they came from playing cricket.

I’ve been playing cricket for many years, and honestly, it shaped me long before I became a business owner.

Cricket teaches you teamwork in the simplest way – no one wins a match alone. You depend on your teammates, you support each other, and you play for the team, not just yourself. Business works exactly the same.

It also teaches leadership. Sometimes you lead from the front, sometimes you guide quietly, and sometimes you just stay calm when things aren’t going your way.

You learn strategy and adaptability too. Every pitch is different; every opponent is different. You read the situation, change your plan, and keep moving forward. That mindset helps a lot in business.

But one of the biggest lessons? Being sportive and friendly. Winning humbles you, losing teaches you grace, and along the way you build great relationships – on and off the field. This is how I have been for many years specially during my peak time of my cricket journey.

For me, cricket was the first place where I learned how to deal with people and pressure.

Curious – what hobbies or passions have quietly shaped the professional you are today?
